I left my initial viewing thinking she and Clint were the standouts, as well. You listed every single thing that jumped out to me, particularly the lullaby. That struck me as overwhelmingly brave, not playing a typical “woman role.” Of all people in the Avengers who should be terrified of the Jade Giant, it’s her after that scene on the SHIELD hellicarrier. She was an all-around badass in AoU and they absolutely would not have succeeded without her. She was key and she matters.
The ensuing Internet war just proved Ultron might have had a point about humanity.
