I haven’t seen it, but still, I have mixed feelings. Yeah, maybe Supergirl got the Super-franchise out of the hands of the Salkinds, who’d taken it in some pretty questionable directions (starting with removing Donner from Superman II), but if it had been successful, I think Hollywood would be having a completely different, more positive dialogue over superheroine movies than it’s having today. Sure, you can say the same thing about Elektra and Catwoman, but Supergirl could have nipped this in the bud. I think the upcoming Supergirl TV series is going to make amends for this, though, especially if Geoff Johns is going to be keeping an eye on it.
